Wasted

About the production

Kae Tempest’s lyrical play follows three friends confronting disillusionment and the possibility of change. This production formed part of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s MA Drama Directors Summer Season at The Wardrobe Theatre.

My approach

I was drawn to the humanity and emotional richness of Kae Tempest’s poetic writing. In Wasted, I worked closely with the actors on character and relationships, so that the poetry’s emotional force emerged through their connection to one another.
